No, not even close, let's put aside the fact that Sony still has more cross play games than both MS and Nintendo for a second. Wow, no wonder PS4 sold so much, Sony knows a household can consists of more than one person. A family can have parents and kids, each with their own PS4. And you know the sad part, Sony still more than likely has more active users than Ms, games also sell more on PS4, sometimes even double the amount on Xbox.
From what I read, Kojima didn't say the game, gets good only halfway through. It was a translation error, as I believe, it was done in Japanese and Danish then translated into English, but the headline drew in for clicks, so why change it. Based on what I recall, Kojima said, the game gets really fun as you play it and by halfway through, it will be really fun. Hell that's literally how most games build, start slow and get exciting, for interesting the more you play.
