I'm sorry but your definition of milking isn't correct. Some of those games you've listed are far from being milked.
Killzone, God of War, Uncharted are terrible examples.
Also the reason Sony doesn't have a mascot is BECAUSE they don't milk franshises. Have you ever thought of that? Sony continue to always create new IPs, therefore creating new characters all the time. When this happens its hard to have a single mascot.

They don't really care? wow. Have you seen how much effort they've put into this game? If they didn't care about fans they wouldn't have added custom soundtracks in the first place. They clearly care about what people want to listen to because they added the feature. all you have to do is play the MS2 soundtrack when your playing, simple.

Heavy Rain sold 2 million in a year. Alan Wake just passed a million. FF13 on the PS3 outsold the 360 version by like 4 to 1. Homefront sold like crazy on the 360 compared to the PS3, guess what its an FPS, thats no surpise.
PS users have always prefered variety in their games.
