You still feel that way after all this time? I loved the ending because i got invested to Ellie and i didn't find humanity to be worth saving as a whole. It's weird because when you stop and think about it, it's clearly the wrong choice. But i loved that it added a completely sifferent edge to Joel's character. Making him lie out of purely selfish intentions.

It gets people to think. Would you not agree?

The only point they'd be making is that Ellie was being true to herself when she shared that kiss in Left Behind. It's not as if that part of her character was unknown. We've had 5 years of knowing.

Ps3 IMO is the greatest. The games spoke to me more than any other gen. I've found this gen to be wrought with dissapointment as too many games suddenly became about how big a world they could build. The hardware is good but far from a standout. Paying increasing amounts for psplus with drastic decreases in quality of content offered comparative to ps3 offerings.

Ps3 just had a great evolution. It started in a barebones state, but it increasingly worked to compete and i...

Well, it's certainly easy to say which has the best HDR.

@Ninja-ryu

If it's not helping Microsoft then why is it outperforming the s model in recent NDP reports?

Also, whilst not selling to the extent of the Playstation, it is still helping Microsoft by repairing the branding of the console package that was underwhelming at the time of the Orginal xbox one launch.

When a consumer looks at an Xbox One console now they get to see a set of consoles that offer good value no matter what drive...

Spiderman is Marvel.

Nobody can make a good Superman game because he's too powerful. He can fly faster than the speed of sound, has the ability to shoot lasers from hia eyes and can punch harder than a round from a tank. He's immune to what almost all of humanity can throw at him.

So imagine the scope of the sandbox you'd need. Then how would you make him feel capable of such destruction? Then how do you make it so you try and avoid that des...

The biggest problem with this idea of spreading them out beyond the holiday season is that it offers up a perfect opportunity for prospective buyers to seriously consider the Scorpio.

Why would a consumer not choose a console that offers the same games running better with increased value and future proofing?

Considering Sony have doubled down on gaming being the most important part of PlayStation, ignoring the opportunity to push UHD physical media, it w...

The thing is, and I'm a PlayStation guy really, that Microsoft is primed to put out a superior machine on all the fronts that matter.

Sony made a choice to clearly display this a mid cycle evolution and as a result it's not a particularly substantial boost in the power required to truly be upping the games.

But the choice to not have a UHD blu ray reader is a bit problematic. Especially when MS are going to be bringing out a games system that ai...

@Shin-Zantetsuken

There are 3 main components to HDR and unfortunately you've managed to highlight only one, and have done so very poorly.

Element one is the increase in colour container. This allows for developers of all media to reproduce their source materials more accurately, with a greater push in all areas, but specifically noticeably up in the greens. This in tandem with a greater bit depth (more on that in a mo) allows for a greatly expanded c...

It's actually still noticeable at slow speeds too.

I have a degree of faith in it being appeased, looking back at the ps4 reveal trailer of GTA V it showed the new foliage, such as grass, at angles that only showed the areas close by. This trailer is totally the opposite, well... It is in regards to this very specific detail.

Also this team has had 4 years on PS4/ XB1 hardware, with only those systems in mind. And finally RDR actually had a fairly go...

We do have essentially a whole year to wait, they're just wetting our appetite.

I really hope that's the real foliage draw distance. It's incredibly immersion breaking in GTA V when you drive by and you see shapes forming in the near distance.

That only helps to solidify the argument though. They've spent multiple years working towards a base ps4 and XB1, so simply taking that further on a beefed up spec that isn't a radically different piece of hardware isn't going to be a large task. Working with dedicated perimeters to nurture a product can be more condusive to creating a more well realised vision.

I will find it perculiar if it doesn't arrive on PC at all however.

The ps3 became the most efficient Blu Ray player over time too. Offering Linear PCM that enabled both DTS HD and Dolby HD, with even Atmos eventually. BD Live and 3D were also not a thing at launch.

If anything I would have felt safer purchasing a 4k Blu Ray drive in a PS4 Pro, than i would a dedicated player.

Then there's still the big HDR 10 dynamic metadata questions lingering above?

3494d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

If i had to choose between relyin on streaming vs physical ownership i'll take physical everytime.

A high quality stream offering both HDR and 4k can only output at a bitrate lower than a high quality 1080p Blu Ray disc, leading to compression and potential loss of detail. Not only this but the audio is limited to lossy Dolby Digital. You're also at the mercy of availability.

4k Blu Ray offers uncompressed imagery and Dolby Atmos on the majority o...

Actually even with a 4k display it'll only mean an increased pixel count. The HDR needs to be a feature of the TV set.

It's very hard to tell the benefits in this video. I look forward to experiencing the expanded colours and increased shadow and highlight detail in person.
