Definitely, Demon's Souls and Resonance of Fate are great examples of hardcore games that the industry needs. The Tri-Ace people (roughly) said they knew Square might not accept the RoF (a.k.a. End of Eternity) project for what it represented in originality. Incidentally, SEGA was looking for a new RPG IP, and I'm glad the situation was mutual.
Otherwise, I'm having a blast playing this, FFXIII, and Strange Journey. They're all uniquely satisfying for hardcore gamers and RPG fans...
If you've the time and money, I'd highly recommend that you try RoF despite your dissatisfaction with The Last Hope (which I plan on playing eventually). I'd compare it to Valkyrie Profile 2, but the battle system is simply more fun. The soundtrack is above average, too.
Just reading interviews with the Directors and Producers of both games is very insightful to the overall vision they intended to create. Yet, both, after playing over 10 hours of each, certainly feel like a Square Enix & Tri-Ace game. They're both very good. But I think "most" I've heard from and read about, so far, aren't JRPG fans. Both games offer enjoyable contrasts.
Once you enter the dungeons, and reach the connected battlegrounds that lead to the treasure your fetching (and the boss to cap it off)...it's the same thing as FFXIII. You run into enemies, and there's a token treasure or two in every other battle. Except, in RoF, you can't preempt the enemy or try to avoid them (besides fleeing the battle room, which the entrance isn't always right behind you). However, the world map of RoF offers more freedom, but even in it you can't do anything extraordi...
Listen, these endless reviews for FFXIII and handful of Resonance of Fate reviews will not change your mind until you play both. As an RPG fan, both offer distinct styles for virtually everything except that they both share---surprise, strategy in their battle systems! One feels, looks, and sounds like a Toriyama-directed Final Fantasy, and the other generally feels like a Suguro-directed Tri-Ace game. Both offer respective originality. I could go on, but you won't be convinced until you try ...
This game now intrigues me. Since PlatinumGames made the excellent Bayonetta I would trust them with this. I'm not familiar with Nude Maker, though. However, this game is constantly having positive feedback from people for what it's supposed to achieve---star oceans that tri-Ace couldn't, perhaps.
Although a first person dungeon crawler, anybody that enjoys even Pokemon, I believe, will find this game appealing. There's a couple hundred new demons designed by Kazuma Kaneko, and they're all fully animated! You will be addicted to Demon Fusion, if nothing else. Plus, Atlus localizations proudly and humorously give the game an evil charm. If you've played any Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, Digital Devil Saga, Devil Summoner, or Devil Survivor, and have enjoyed any of them you owe it to your...
Hopefully won't regret that I bought the [25% off] Star Ocean: The Last Hope International deal earlier. I figured since I enjoyed the last two games this one can't be that bad. There aren't any other JRPGs out now or coming soon that are generally worthy other than Resonance of Fate and FFXIII anyway.
I've played the End of Eternity demo, and I highly recommend this game for any RPG fan especially looking for something refreshing for the PS3. Although vague, I can't say much more than a few reviews have already said (do yourself a favor, search, and wait for new reviews). Resonance of Fate deserves to be bought and enjoyed. As an RPG fan there's no reason not to enjoy this game as well as the other game that came out last week(<-in bold). Support tri-Ace because they were passionate abo...
It was partially meant to appeal to non RPG fans since the developers said they acknowledged Call of Duty (and other Western games) as a minor inspiration. That should be one of their goals, anyway, especially that this is a new Final Fantasy premiering on new systems (like VII and X). You can bet anything that Versus will add more traditional elements.
But, yes, you should pick RoF up over WKC.
