I've had my 360 since the 2nd shipment (Sold out while I was in line at launch). After a few months, I thought that poiece of crap Intercooler would be a good idea. Bought it, hooked it up, and my system was down within a month. Sent it back, and paid $130 for repair/refurbish. (However, MS refunded my money a few months later)Had never had a console fail on me (have been gaming since the beginning, before Atari. Anyone remember when Sears sold a console????) My gaming buddy had the wor...

Did'nt SONY claim 300% increase over last year's Black Friday sales?? Gamespot's extrapolation is based on last WEEK's sales. Big difference!!!

To EZCheeze...
Yes you can. It all depends on which headset you use. The standard one that comes with the 360 allows you to talk and listen to chat through the one ear, and listen to the game through TV/Sound system. However there a number of 3rd party headphones that are better. I use a 5.1 headset from Tritton that blends both chat and game sound into headset, true 5.1 optical/coaxle digital sound (can turn off audio system). The sound and separation is incredible. Mind you, I ...

As stated a number of times, people do not want their console of choice to become obsolete, or a laughing stock. What bothers me the most is fanboys that use absolutes. Phrases like "everybody knows the PS3 will rule", or Anybody can make a good game for the PS3, they're just lazy". I am a 360 owner, but I do not hate the PS3, I have problems with their arrogance. If you prefer anime style games, with big head characters who look like they are in their teens, toting a sword...

In my opinion, this is the deal.
The PS3 has not sold well because it was too expensive for most gamers. However, it was (is)very cheap when compared to other Blu-Ray players. Since Sony has created this Trojan Horse (PS3) to create and dominate this new HD format, a vast number of PS3 sales have benn to those wanting a cheaper Blu-Ray player. This is the only plausible explanation, given the fact that there are a number of games available (not my style, but to each his own) for the...

A lot of it depends on the manufacturing, as in how many factories are dedicated to making Wiis. I know that Microsoft had three factories making 360's, then found that one of them were releasing defective units (RROD, htat's why most estimates placed the defective units at 33%), they had to shut them down, RROD problem solved, but less units are now being produced. I do not think that factory has been replaced yet.
For some reason, Nintendo does not have many factories running. The...

You do not need a Harddrive to play games.

Very well put. I agree completely. But I do not care what they say. I look at it as the best entertainment value available. Look at it this way..., you get 2 hours entertainment from a $10 movie ($5/hr), go to a play, what $50 ($25/hr), sporting event $50-100 ($50/hr). Video game? $60 for what???... 20-30 hours??? That come to less than $2/hr!!!! Fantastic value!!!!

Been married since 1974, no kids. So I have been playing without restraint since the beginning. Back in the '70s there was nothing like smoking a joint and playing some games... ALL night. Every now and then, I still do (smoke that is). Will never stop gaming. Cannot seem to get the wife t play, but she has gotten into the casual PC games, like Hoyles Board Games, Word games, we have been playing M.U.L.E. since way back then, now playing an emulation on the PC. Even have filled five com...

My thoughts as a gaming adult on the present state of gaming in this country.

I must begin by stating "I am a 360 gamer". That is my current system of choice, and it fulfills my needs better than all past systems had before. I have been amused by all you kids and young adults, making such grandiose predictions and proclamations, based on a few years of experience. I know all of you are not under 16 (even though most of your posts scream otherwise), but even th...

Although I was born in 1953, and have played EVERY videogame sytsem released, excerpt the NeoGeo (too costly). Posted a few days back, and no-one believed I was over 50. My experiences make me somewhat of an expert in gaming. But as you said, the wife allows me to play games and watch football (only vices). As a friend of mine likes to say "good, clean, wholesome fun".

All you need to do is ead some website cheat, boost your achievements, then get whatever by cheating. I like the sound of most of those rewards, but too many will just cheat to get them. Sorry to say, but it's true. Leave it to a Timmy! There is just no way to ensure that your achievements were gained by playing through the game without cheating. Or just following step-by-step instructions from a website/blog.

I'm buying a new 360 (with 2 free games) tomorrow, and buying CoD4. Selling my current one to co-worker for $250. Then buying Mass Effect Tues.

Slap 'em just one more time. They sound like a bunch of masochists to me anyway.
SLAP!!

Just slap the PS3, leave the Wii alone. They're young and knoweth not what they do. They are not a threat. At least, not to the 360. They're also slappping the PS3 in the Land of the Rising Sun!

Was it 'fair' that Sony had already released the PS1 and the PS2 before Microsoft released the XBox?
Was it 'fair' that the Playstation brand was ballyhooed by Sony every time Microsoft tried to talk about its upcoming 360.
Was it 'fair' that when the 360 was released, Sony came up with a big PR campaign for the PS3 (to be released a few months later in the spring), which turned out to be a lie, but the hype had already started.
Was it 'fair' that Sony released a 'Blu-Ray...

Also, do not foget that the 360 costs a hell of a lot less to make than the PS3, which was losing big bucks BEFORE the $100 cut. Sony is really bleeding money right now! And the extremely low software sales translate into extremely low revenue from those sales. Nowhere near enough to compensate.

Agreed. All types means "ALL TYPES"! You are just interpreting his words to fit your beliefs. Do not think you know what he means, read and accept what he says! After all, he was quoted, not paraphrased.

I commented two days ago regarding this claim. Many millions of PS2s were purchased as replacement systems for faulty drives or faulty lenses. I have a buddy that I've been gaming with for the past 30 years (yeah, I said 30 YEARS!!). While we both bought systems, this guy bought ALL of them! All except the Nintendo systems, a bit too juvenile for us, but that's not my point. I remember his systems always breaking on him. He used to have to play one of his PS2s upside down. I used to la...

As I stated in my post, some of us enjoy western-style games. My point is it all comes down to choice. Some like one style, some others do not. As a matter of fact, I do have a HD-DVD, and am quite aware that it is made by a Japanese company. I drive a Korean car, and my HDTV is made by Samsung (also japanese). These facts are neither here nor there, as they have nothing to do with the fact that I and millions of others, do not PREFER the Japanese style games, like FF, MGS, ect (I have p...
