Their focus IS on games. The reveal was literally just ONE hour of showing their plans to bring more stuff to the Xbox Live service. Obviously the big picture here is to keep subscribers paying for gold membership. The gold membership brings them more members and more money. Nothing will ever change the fact that the reason why the VAST MAJORITY of people buy video game consoles is to play games. In the real world Xbox has been the number one console this gen. And will continue to make strides into the next gen.
The reveal did exactly what it was supposed to and it showed a lot about their plan to have a solid living room solution. It doesn't mean that it's not a games console, it's just like the guy said about having to switch inputs to get to other content. The new Xbox controller looks great. Can't really complain, be nice if they found a way to put personal storage into them so that each controller had its own memory and just by registering it to a friend's console you could bring your games and saves.
