Yes and no. You are right, they aren't meaningful evidence. But when we look at your own example, one rumour is meaningless. Add bunch of rumours more and it actually becomes meaningful. So at this point I would say the evidence are meaningful.

One word: denial.
Like someone mentioned, they are getting outsold in the market X1 is already in. The sales of those markets are boosted by the ones they are still not in (for example, in Finland it's possible to get one, I believe it comes from Germany).
So no, the gap won't get smaller after X1 releases elsewhere. We might see really small boost for a couple of months in those countries (they are small markets, so it doesn't matter). After that PS4 will continue to dominate.
Buy a PC if you want more powerful gaming device. It's really not the devs that whine about 'underpowered console', it's you and the master race. Instead, devs are happy to get rid of PS3 & the 360.

Right. If you finish reading his message, he clearly meant xbox 360 _hardware_ hasn't been profitable. The money comes from the software sales and live subscriptions.
If you compare your next-gen system to a PC, I'll let one say they have no games. But it's not right to compare PS4 and X1 since PS4 has more games actually. It just comes down to the personal preference of which games are your cup of tea.
