What's wrong with paying for something that you want to play ?
Somehow I am glad they are taking their time to make a good game but they keep changing core game elements (skills & runes etc.) so often, I kind of wonder whether their design process is solely based on trial and error. Don't get me wrong, I love the Diablo series and am looking forward to Diablo III, I am just confused by how much they seem to struggle to make this game 'work'. Sure, it's Blizzard and they have enough money to take their time, but I have never seen such ...
Those screenshots look absolutely atrocious and very different from the concept art that has been on display earlier. It now looks like a casual game, almost similar to Disney Online ! Boy, this is going to be a major turkey, shame, the idea was not bad . . .
From what I saw it looks like a decent action-RPG but nothing out of the ordinary. The things I found a bit below par were the art style, too cartoonish and MMO-like, the interface/fonts etc., and the lack of blood/gore when fighting enemies. So, I think I will get it but I expect an 8/10 or 7/10 game, nothing more.
They are trying really hard to appease all the fans of the old XCOM title, that is pretty impressive. I wonder what they will do with the Cyberdiscs, I am glad the sectoids are back, they were my favourites, even though they were a piece of cake to beat
I am pretty sure this will be a good game, I just wish it would look a bit more like Max Payne 1&2 and not be set in Brazil, but will still enjoy it I am sure
So what, nobody complains about Steam or GOG ? Would you do it differently if you would be working for/at EA ? I get something, so I am willing to accept their terms, it's their product after all and I am free to decide not to play it as much as they are free to decide how to distribute it.
As far as the demo is concerned, I am a Day 1-Buyer anyway so I wont' spoilt it.
Am I the only one who thinks it is weird that this Platinum Hits website shows up all of the sudden with no review but one for Amy for 9.2/10 points ?
Many games have tried to remake XCOM, UFO:Aftermath for example and have failed. Firaxis is certainly a good name but whether they will deliver remains to be seen. The squad visuals kind of leave me a bit cold, it looks pretty outdated and generic to be honest. And while I don't mind streamlining, I wonder whether they will add some new and interesting game mechanics as well . . .
Yes, it does, well, that was a nice #failtoread right there. Anyhow, how about a non-mainstream follow up list ?
Finally someone is talking sense
Would be nice to see some more unknown, older or obscure games on the list. I agree with most of your choices but all of the picks are pretty much a no-brainer.
I don't care about the core vs. casual gamer discussion. A good game is a good game and I take a good casual gamer over a rubbish hardcore game any time. There are so many AAA-titles that I don't care about because they are way too 'hardcore' for me (such as BF3 for example) and I would rather play a good PopCap game instead. Yet, I still love complex strategy games and deep RPGs, why are they mutually exclusive ? It's the same with other forms of media, sometimes you go s...
I disagree. How are some people more or less entitled to their opinion about games/systems than others ? I never buy CE's, I dont follow all the news, yet I am an avid gamer and have been there 'from the start', whatever that means. Does that make me less of a gamer ? I don't see what is wrong with casual gaming. Just like there is nothing wrong with casual films and casual books, there is a time for everything. The history of film/books/music has shown that while the more pop...
It would have been interesting to see what Blizzard would have done with SC:Ghost, it does look like a bit of Half-Life and Mass Effect.
The Darkness 2 is being pushed quite a lot with videos and features and the new CO game ? Seriously ? That has all the CS players drooling with anticipation. I think there are tons of other games that are scheduled to release that no one knows and/or cares about . . .
It is not even gold yet, no way it is coming out in a month. The rumours have already been debunked by official Blizzard. I don't see why this is news, all shops carry different release dates of Diablo III and have throughout the years. I know it will be released when I hold it in my hands.
Most definitely a must-buy on day one !
