This title has a lot of competition not just in the MMORPG genre, but dealing with the already established title, City of Heroes. However, the branding alone and exclusivity of DC based characters may be enough to draw City of Heroes loyalists away to the legendary characters of their youth.
While I'm all for the booth babes at E3, I think that developers should let their games do the selling, let their hard work speak for itself. By adding booth babes to the mix, the developers are practically sabotaging their own efforts. Also I'm beginning to see E3 descend back into the ridiculous, hyped up mess it was a number of years ago. I thought there was some glimmer of hope when E3 was something of a closed-doors affair and far more exclusive, but now its becoming just the fan...
My personal favorite goes to Portal 2. A game that surprised many with its initial release and surprised even more when its release was announced to coincide with the addition of Steam to the PS3 Network.
This release will certainly be a boon to the PS3, especially with all of the user generated content. LBP2 may not surpass the original in terms of innovation, but will definitely become a classic in terms of quality and community involvement.
I'm impressed with not only the addition of a new controller, but also the introduction of revamped peripherals that will provide a more accurate simulation of their real world counterparts and operate as synthesizers too. Harmonix is making Rock Band 3 more than a video game, but also a great instructional tool.
