I think Physics done on the gpu these days. It's a technique mark cerny discussed when ps4 was announced. Ubisoft did a huge presentation about it.
Its not locked but yes it has a recieved a performance patch and runs pretty well now.

Yes they are overreacting. This will help peeling the console life cycle., if they didn't do this they would likely bring ps5 sooner which would suck.
Xbox was losing this gen because it's a weaker box. They no doubt were planning an upgrade like they did last gen with the elite to get back customers but sony are knocking that idea on the head with their own upgrade.
Personality I don't understand the problem. Most phones have a premium version, like the IPhone s series and the z5 premium and the galaxy s7 edge. This will be just like that for those who want it. It won't effect anyone else. Stop crying about it.

Love this series but I can't go back to it unless they improve the laggy controls caused by bad framerate. Id be happier if they turned off v-sync on the ps4 just to improve the response.
I love my ps4 and I believe features like cross game chat, share play and remote play and recording and screen shots are an awesome addition. My only real bug bear is that the ps4 does not play cds!!!! This is really ridiculous.
