Honestly right now its friggin ridiculous. Ive been on vacation and Ive tried to play COD 4 but have gotten nothing but headaches. Even up till now Im getting booted out of lobies, hosts ending games abruptly and connection issues. Ive been asking other players as well when I finally get in and they're having the same problems. If Live is free then I have no right to complain...instead Im paying $70 (cdn) for a service thats not working. Microsoft BETTER compensate us.
Actually i stuck my hand around my tv and it gives off quite a bit of heat. The irony that its a Sony 42" LCD lol Im now watching a third movie and the fan has yet to kick on its highest setting so Im hoping it will be a past issue. Thanks for the help tho.

Im actually glad this topic came up because I've been googling alot about this lately. My ps3 which i got on dec 26th has been fairly quiet during operation. However, when i started watching movies the fan kicks on at full blast and is very loud and noticeable. This has been happening up until today where I've watched two movies: Blood Diamond (blu ray) and the Matrix (DVD) and the fan came on but at a much lower setting. This might sound stupid but is there some sort of "break in" ...
I think its pretty safe to say that a certain former sony exec lied to us about that. The only way possible for a game to run at 120 fps is to drop down alot of settings (lighting, resolution, AA, etc)

The interesting thing about the article to me is the amount of games on the ps3 that is running at sub HD resolution. I personally do not and will never have a problem with this. People really think that the ps3 can be at 30 million consoles by end of 2008? Think about that for a sec. Thats like 22 million consoles next year alone. The 2008 line up is fantastic but there is no way they're selling 22 million.
From a sales perspective for sure the DS/Wii take that crown. From a gaming perspective this was the 360's year. Everyone knows 2008 is Sony's year (gaming perspective), why cant people admit 2007 was Microsoft's?

Everything breaks down and nothing is perfect. However, this is a paid service and its been acting up for a week now. I can excuse a day but not for an entire week. Im on vacation this week and hardly got to play cod 4 like i wanted to. Microsoft definitely owes me and other xbox live customers some form of credit or something.
Holy frig. The pc version is faster? lol I rented it (for ps3) and couldn't believe how fast the game is. Its a good game, the single player threw me off a little but its a different experience. Do I like it more than COD 4? no. And to people sayin there's no lag I was experiemcing some today. It wasnt alot but there was some. If anyone wants to play add me:

Seriously, if you guys don't like halo then thats fine. The way you guys cry about it sometimes is borderline pathetic.
COD4 was my fav game of the year. Sure it has its problems (putting you on a losing team with a min left, suspect respawns etc) but overall the game was really well done. If you don't own it then you're missing out.
I honestly wish I can put my finger on it but I feel like Uncharted is missing something. Good game, no doubt, but its missing something...
I played rock band for the 360 on new years and I never thought id have so much fun. A crying shame for ps3 owners are having to put up with the stupid issue about the guitars.
