1. Clans
Dedicated servers allow players to customize their games and have clans. Clan servers, and set up scrims (matches against other clans)..
You cannot have a clan without dedicated servers, and without clans and organization the game is NOTHING BUT AN ARCADE SHOOTER.

Having dedicated servers allows the player to choose WHAT map he plays, WHO he plays with, and HOW LONG he plays.
Matchmaking...
I agree, Grand Theft Auto is fun.. but in terms of quality it is extremely overrated.
It is the only game on my PS3 that has graphic artifacting. It is also my worst looking PS3 game. :P
Plus the online is completely screwed up, the ranks reset for no apparent reason and the game crashes all the time.
I'm a little concerned that I have not seen any Uncharted 2 ads in America.
The game releases in 1 day and I haven't seen any advertisements at all.
However I saw tons of InFamous advertisements on television, in the movie theatre, online... and that game didn't sell very well at all. Not sure what the strategy here is.

I think Avatar will be a pretty interesting franchise.
They are kind of lazy and unresponsive.
They told listeners to make a IGN Beyond picture on the inFamous home space, so a bunch of people did and they never checked.

PSP is outselling 360 by the tens of thousands.
PS3 is only behind 360 sales a fraction.
With PSP sales alone Sony beats Microsoft console wise, the PS3 is just the icing on the cake.

I live in the US and played the Japan demo.
Never lagged the entire time.
The only game I have lagged on from PSN is GTA4, and the lag isn't even that bad. Seriously this game impressed the hell out of me. The only problem is a few graphical glitches, like things turning black etc.

I played the demo and only died twice, and I'm not even good at Battlefield.
I had the top score, 17 kills 0 deaths in one match.
Its really not that hard. I can't believe you got schooled on an arcade shooter with 3 classes.

CS is one of the best fps of all time, it should be top 5 at least.
It's much better than Halo, Cod and Bioshock, because it's realistic and tactical.
In Counter Strike you can't just throw respawning nades, you have to pick your shots and use strategy.
And when you die in a game online, you're dead the entire match. Adds more tension to stay alive.
