If reviewers (if you want to call some of them that) just play a game and review the game for what it is then I think gamers would respect them a bit more. Too often from my vantage point it appears that reviews become nothing more than critical comparisons of one game to other games often times unrelated beyond the fact that they are in the same genre.

Jaggies and pop ins don't make a game suck but if you're going to talk about how much you don't like a game in a thread not about that game then you should elaborate a bit more. I broke my third rule but I'm a hypocrite.
Since this is the only anticipated action game on 360/PS3 this month I expect higher than average reviews, inflated scores from 360 fanboys, and relatively high sales numbers. I know I'll be reading a million comparisons about how this is better than or different from or not quite at good as Infamous in every review whether it's from the xbots or pees3s. This game will sell a LOT of copies and will be number 1 on 360 and PS3 for the next two - three weeks.

I believe CC marks some stuff up before the mark it down. Therefore giving you (the consumer) the impression that you are indeed getting a deal when you in reality are NOT.
