Why in god's name would sony want to start a new format war when they just won what could have been a seriously fatal battle for the one they have now? Not to mention they would definitely be the underdog to MSFT considering they have a more open platform, and a less robust online network. Jesus lord it was a performance! If you haven't already figured it out last night was not anything akin to a normal e3 conference and was never intended to be so. they will show everything from last night and more in a couple hours, and i guarantee it won't be pre-recorded. I'm not saying i particularly liked the event, but i think it certainly served the purpose it was intended for, and that is to get EVERYBODY talking about their product.
Does everyone not understand that this was first and foremost a live performance by Cirque? Why does the footage have to be live? This event was not intended to give people a hands-on or even a particularly informative show. It was a big-budget spectacle to get word out into the mainstream press by involving great talent. Do you expect these guys with all the amazing things they do to have to worry about one of the 360's coming unplugged while their "living-room environment" is ...
