lol UK articles sure go crazy. I was in GAME earlier today and an employee was talking to another about Sony getting sued for $24 Billion and that PSN is very unsafe...he was talking so loud everyone could hear it, what a way to scare potential customers away as the store had alot of people in it
Few days? Its more like 6 days...nearly another week of waiting!
We cant even log into PSN...so how are we supposed to remove our credit card details?
Also it happened days before there was any news of the hack, so many could have already had their info stolen.
Not to bash Sony, but they once said the PS3 is unhackable. Also some hacker said that credit card info was sent over the network in plain text, quote:
creditCard.paymentMethodId=CC _COMPANY&
creditCard.holderName=EXAMPLE NAME&
creditCard.cardNumber=1234567 890123456&
creditCard.expireYear=2012&am p;am p;creditCard.expireMonth=2& ;
creditCard.securityCode=123&a mp;a mp;
creditCard.address.address1=E XAMPLESTREET%2024%20&a...
Now more will follow...
Credit card info was sent over the network as plain text?
e.g. creditCard.paymentMethodId=VIS A&creditCard.holderName=Max &
creditCard.cardNumber=******* ***&creditCard.expireYear=* ***&creditCard.
expireMonth=*&creditCard. securityCode=***&creditCard .address.address1=
example street%2024%20&creditCard. address.city=city1%20&credi tCard.
address.province=abc%20&c reditCard.address.postalCode=12 345%2
...
Some do it for Linux and some do it for stealing content...that video showed someone who used it for stealing content, is it that hard to understand?
This has been known for over 3 weeks, why has it taken Sony so long to take action?
@ Joni-Ice
You say "EVERY network can be hack by the right person" and then you say "Sony is just making sure PSN is safe for everyone"
So that means they can hack their new network when it goes up? How does that makes us PS3 users safe?
Hackers or not...its Sony's fault for having a network that wasnt so secure
@ disagree trolls...if such a big company like Sony can have their network crashed for days due to hackers, then its proof it wasnt so secure. How can you differ?
This PSN downtime couldnt happend at a worst time, Easter weekend with Bank Holiday Monday coming up and cant play online =( Mortal Kombat, SOCOM 4 & Portal 2 just came out on Thursday over here (UK) and us PS3 users havent even had a chance to play them online =(
The only thing gross here is you and your avatar
@ moparful99 If you have a X360 you likely a have a XBL account already, its not as if everyone buying the new games are only creating their XBL accounts now lol
True, but impatient gamers would still buy it for X360 because they simply want to play online right away, same could be said with Mortal Kombat, but that would be dumb because they would get no Kratos
Alot of those clips can be explained as missile tests(those long worm like lights in the sky), look it up. The thing burning up crashing downwards can be explained as an old satellite burning as it re-enters our atmosphere. The clip at the end is interesting, although some would say its chinese lanterns. Im a strong believer of life outside our little planet, but theres alot better footage out there these guys could have put together.
No, the word 'Super' is used in the title for Street Fighter games. MVC has never had that and I really doubt it would now, Super MVC 3 just sounds stupid.
Some sites have said that the 3.60 update is on the disc.
Oh another X360 game leaked before release...and how is this news?
Yes, and the fact that New games in the UK costs between £40-£50 ($65-$81) is ridiculous, since New games are always $60 in the US.
Sony's quote:

"All of the data was protected, and access was restricted both physically and through the perimeter and security of the network. The entire credit card table was encrypted and we have no evidence that credit card data was taken. The personal data table, which is a separate data set, was not encrypted, but was, of course, behind a very sophisticated security system that was breached in a malicious attack.
