Interesting to see this analysis. Pretty much spot on. I see some early reviews of Too Human are coming in under 80%...not good for an exclusive 360 release.

i also think it depends on the genre. I am not a fan of RPG's and an RPG would probably need to score above 95%+ for me to buy it, but for a FPS, anything over 70% and i'm buying
Yea, it does to an extent. But I dont think it matters as much for the casual gamers.
I just don't think we should hold publishers accountable for bad games--hold the developer responsible.

The console war is not so much a battle of who can sell the most consoles, but a battle of not being last. The gaming industry growth is crazy and home consoles will be the gateway to mass digital disribution through the television. With stakes that high, coming in last is costly (so is a tie!).
They did do that once. Pretty typical, Analysts pretty much coming in at 50% accuracy (including myself).

I don't think you ever read the report? It just says that Wii hardware sales are correlated to SMG sales. He says NOTHING about the gaming crashing, bombing, or sucking. He was just make a reference to the low wii sales.

That's what Pachter does. If he only reported on what already DID happen, then he'd be a journalist, hehe.
Analyzing and forecasting is a difficult game and you have to give the man some credit for coming out each month with fresh material. There are 1,000's of us analyst in the gaming industry, but Pachter is the only one to put his name out there for the world to judge. You gotta give him some credit for that.

Yea, I failed to mention ATAR and MWY, but I was assuming that was the obvious, hehe. I was picking one out of the big four (EA/ATVI/TTWO/THQI).
But the other analysts were right, ATAR is in trouble.
