1) people with dead xbox are probably going to buy a new one instead of waiting it out, that is probably one of the few reason why the PS2 sold so well
2) xbox is "cheaper" because its starting price Sony was beating MS in the first 8 months of 2008 until xbox dropped price. also the xbox is not cheaper if you plan on going on xbox live because of the 50$ a year crap. in the 4 years you have your xbox you coughed up 200$ extra dollars and who knows how many months you lose due...

I just noticed I'm seeing more and more of the 2 rings of death and not the 3 rings. hmm....is this the new chip set at work? if its true then don't worry people in another 3 new chip sets you'll get 1 ring and another 6 it won't even show that its dead. Thats when MS will finally fix it.
