The Starcraft games would make excellent movies, though the budget needed to do them justice would be immense.
You see your armour in every cutscene where your character talks to somebody else as well, and that happens quite a bit. As for playing in 3rd person, I mixed it up a fair bit when I went through it. Mostly 1st person for shooting and 3rd for everything else.
No room for World of Warcraft? A game which has dominated its genre for the last decade while keeping millions of players subbing for its duration. I don't play WOW anymore, that ship has sailed, but in it's prime it was a fantastic game and one of the most important ever made. Yet games like Nidhogg and The Stanley Parable make the list...what a joke :)
Like I said, to each his own. I loved GTA 4...I also loved Vice City, but wasn't so fond of GTA 3 or San Andreas. A lot of people didn't like the "realistic" direction that GTA 4 took, but I thought it added to the game.
Also @ LarVanian I didn't see your post until after I had written the reply, but yeah I accept your point that Rockstar has a lot of different divisions and can't be classed as a whole like Naughty Dog can.
I think you're wrong there, I think GTA4 was one of the best games ever made and certainly one of the stand out titles of this generation. I think review scores and sales figures would back me up on that one as well. I also think they set a standard with DLC in The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, but to each his own.
Naughty Dog are one of the best this generation, no doubt. I've completed every game they've put out since the launch of the PS3, and they have all been absolute quality. I though Uncharted 3 was a let down thought and fell short of the standards they set.
For me though the best developer around simply has to be Rockstar. They've had a blip in LA Noire as well, but overall their games are always top drawer and GTA5 looks like the only game that could possibly take...
Its garbage this site..every day it has some sensational headline just like this one. It doesn't have to back itself up with facts or any rationality, it just makes an outrageous headline and lets us all get suckered in.
I just watched that video and to be honest (and this goes with every Killzone game i've ever played), I just don't get what the game is aiming at. I own a 360, a PS3 and a brand new PC that I built up for gaming and I'll tell you right now tha...
There's nothing baffling about it Spurg. Playstation has a far larger user base this generation and will no doubt sell a lot more copies on that platform. There's no point paying for exclusivity this late into the consoles life cycle, they may as well sell it to as many people as they can and gather the interest and fan base for the coming sequels, which would be next gen and exclusive to MS platforms.
