Selling no. Partnering yes. Microsoft has the goal of owning the living room. To dominate the living room you need to be able to pull people away from tablets, smart TVs and computers - how can you do that unless your device does everything?

Therefore Microsoft gives Amazon exclusivity to its unique marketing opportunity via direct to consumer on-demand product marketing (mic and camera in your home) and Amazon give Xbox One exclusive consumer deals. You want the best s...

Microsoft have invested a lot into the Kinect. Not just buying the technology but integrating it into the software and 2nd wave games. They cannot drop it as their future plans rely too heavily on it.

There is an estimated 1.4bn dollars invested into content for the Xbox platform. So expect price cuts and cable style monthly contracts but do not expect a Kinectless bundle.

Its easier for MS to take a loss on hardware as their long term vision for in-home...

Very true. DX12 will not improve the resolution output so Xbox One games will remain random between 720p - 1080p. What it will do is allow for more "out the box" features and a better efficiency for existing ones. Which is still great.

I for one do not care about the resolution, I just want great games to play on each of my platforms.

It was but its now gone. It was only live for a few days.

It depends on the agreement. I have had IPs sold off without my signature, its about who owns the majority.

The cloud is not being used to create better lighting. Its being used to make adaptive AI and shared simulation. Anything that can be translated with a 3D space coordinate and timing will be used. Great if you want enemies that feel real, bad if you want amazing visuals.

Steel is actually solder. Its about melting and fusing metal in the game. Kind of looks like molten lava when you charge a metal item before making it explode like a volcano. Not as cool as glass, think Knack shards but sucking glass from windows as you run. Looks awesome.

Its not changed, its just not cherry picked and polished for maximum positive reaction. Plus high end PC's will always have better visuals. My concern is that the game is still a mess. And yep, I have played it enough to give that statement.

The visuals you see on The Division tech demo and trailers are top top top end PCs. Do not expect that fidelity, expect the same bait and switch as Watch Dogs. The irony is Watch Dogs still looks as good as AC so its not all bad.

Steel, concrete and glass. Sorry to spoil it.

The sale of double helix was part of a deal giving Xbox Live Gold users free access to Amazon Prime streaming. Halo 2 Anniversary will be the flagship cloud game, using AI patterns that learn from other players play throughs. Finally we will hear of a King and Microsoft partnership taking Bubble Witch Saga, Candy Crush Saga and others to Xbox One free to play.

Major PS4 announcements include Crash Bandicoot, Timesplitters free to play, Street Fighter (timed exclusive) and The Agent. We will see a teaser for the next God of War, Gran Turismo and Uncharted. The biggest reveal will come from Guerrilla as they unveil WipeOut (using the VR).

Oh and to my pleasure popcap announce Plants vs Zombies on the PS4. Sadly ThatGameCompany will not show anything (might be a NextGen collection of their games).

Outside of that e...

I hope Sony show something unique, something that we did not already experience on PS3. However I actually think it will just be graphical improvements to Uncharted etc.

If Sony give ThatGameCompany a budget like they did at Ready at Dawn then this E3 could be special. Outside of that I am hoping for a new Crash, a new Jak and ideally a PS4 iteration of Tearaway. If that game had a little RPG love it would be Sony's answer to all things Zelda.

Its not selling badly its just not matching PS4 sales. The same issues exist with the Wii U, good start big drop off. Microsoft needs to focus on the market they want, not the one shouting the loudest. Playstation has the core gamer already, the mud thrown at The Xbox One has stuck! No one has the living room yet and its this market which unites smart phones and home entertainment (major profits).

As gamers that is 100% what we want. My previous point is based on Microsoft wanting the living room only. I would LOVE them to give Rare free licence to bring old IPs back to life. I would kill for a new Jet Force Gemini.

Microsoft needs to rethink its approach in many ways but 1080p is not a problem to 90% of the audience their "entertainment" system targets. Microsoft should partner with Amazon Prime and give movie streaming as part of gold, in addition provide sales from Amazon via Xbox One exclusively. This partnership along with better smart glass integration, so for example mobile games feed into bigger games - a good example would be a Zoo Tycoon spin off where you can earn unlocks etc. If ...

It is more likely that Microsoft will buy into the Amazon Prime services and offer free unlimited streaming to all Xbox One Gold members. They want to dominate entertainment and to do that they need to get past TV and Netflix. By partnering with Amazon they could create exclusive via Xbox One sales which will attract the casuals more than a 1080p version of Assassins Creed.

This gives Amazon money via sales and a point of access direct to a users living room for adverising,...

@Kwandar

Thank you for the reply. I just don't see how third party support can fix the fact most casuals believe the Wii U is a peripheral still? Plus how would a weaker console port of Fifa or Destiny help drive sales on the Wii U? The cost to fund AAA is insane, they are better off creating mobile device spin offs that promote the Wii U (for example the Yoshi Game on Nintendo Land). How many buyers could they get from making a mario kart one level demo on iOS and li...

Do Nintendo really need to buy third party support? Once Mario Kart is released they have all the same heavy hitters out from their Wii generation. Perhaps they should use the money to market the console differently with the release of Mario Kart? Then they can cater to the family by bringing a Nintendo inspired match 3, bubble pop and other mobile style games like a Mario World city builder to market. The market does not need Nintendo to jump on the same meat train as others, they have t...

I would take 8bit graphics over AAA if its more fun to play. I am not saying TitanFall is fun but I am saying if it is, why do the graphics matter? You will be too busy enjoying the game surely?
