I don't really care too much how it compares against the pc version in looks, I just want it to run well.
Agreed. The critics seem to be throwing nostalgia and fun to the side when reviewing the game.

That's because LAN was the popular method of multiplayer gaming back then, you sound surprised that a game made in a generation where the internet makes gaming with people around the world easy would not have supported LAN initially.

I was going to get it at Christmas anyway so I'm not too bothered.
I saw Prey 2 gameplay and I think that you would have to be insane to get more excited about that than skyrim.
