The servers aren't dedicated so the matches have connection issues most of the time.
Its broken, half the time you can't start a game. even if you get into a game you may not connect with the other players properly, meaning you can't kill them, invisible blocks etc...
Activision lost Harmonix who went to work for a rival publisher, and Activision just put another dev on the Guitar Hero games and they still sell well.
If Activision loses IW, they still have Treyarch to make CoD games, and they will still sell.

It's online only. There's no way that you can play the retail version after it's been patched. If they wait to review it, it should be reviewed at the current state.
