My $700 was ready 6 months ago, but I refused to buy the aging 980Ti. Now for the 1080!
I had great experience with Gigabyte SOC & ASUS DirectCU cards, but value-oriented Palit cards were terrible!
You're good for next year (though newest, unoptimized DX12 titles may dip below 60fps) if 40+, 50+ fps is fine by you for future titles (I need at least 40fps to prevent headache). I held off the 980Ti purchase for 6 months to wait for the 1080. Yesterday's reveal was my happiest day this year!
This may be the 1st COD I'll buy ... in order to play the "Space" theme (& the Lebanese gal).
NG2 was the best! Waiting for NG4 (or NG2 Remake).
While waiting, I'm going to play through the Uncharted Trilogy for the 3rd time on PS4.

Linear, cinematic games tells an immersive, gripping & tightly-paced story. Open world games don't.
