Demon's Souls was such a WIN for me that it drew me back into console gaming in a major way. In fact, I've already picked up previous King's Fields titles which were the spiritual predecessors to this game.
I'm a bit down, though, that I missed ordering the deluxe edition with the artwork, soundtrack and strategy guide. Wish Atlus would make those available once again!

I never buy new games for my PS3... because they cost too damn much! It is like buying a new car, as soon as you drive it off the lot, you've lost a substantial value for resale.

I'm enjoying my brief time with a new (used) PS3, but you're absolutely right. Sony lacks a coherent strategy for the PS3 to compete with the XBOX.
The price drop, while nice, was a bit too little, a bit too late. Sony could have really zinged Microsoft with some serious hurt if they would have dropped the price to $249 or even $200 (the magic price point).

This is a straight up console port for the PC. But, that isn't a bad thing, not at all! I do think you'll get the best experience playing this with an xbox controller. The game itself runs great, and oozes the dark atmosphere and gritty feel of the console version. In fact, I do have the PS3 version as a point of comparison, and they are nearly identical as far as I can see thus far (haven't made it to the new content of it just yet). This game is a must-have for those who are new...
