There is no doubt that this is going to be spectacular...but with games that I'm on the fence about, I would like to know before release, read plenty of reviews so that if I want to cancel my pre-order and get my money back - I have plenty of time to think about it.

Because its not hardware failure, its design [if anything] failure. Hardware failure is the harddrive crashing, this is heat issues result.
How can you argue with stats?
If they say it is still #4 most claimed issue, then what is STUPID - is arguing that it is no longer a problem.
The RROD is not outright hardware failure. It is the result of heat damaging the hardware.
Yes,the design could have been different to avoid this, but still...
