Me buying the game from Amazon is not really a question. I buy most of my games from them since they generally have the best prices, no shipping, and no tax. I'm simply saying that offering me 3 bucks of to preorder something when I know that they'll drop it more than that within the first month of release (considering they generally do) is not a very big incentive for me.
I think games did just fine without any type of measurement system. Sony and Microsoft have done a great job making you think that you need them. I personally enjoyed my PS3 more without the trophies because I didn't have them to care about in the first place. But when it gets to the point where without ever trying you are only 4 or 5 trophies away from a platinum who is going to stop?
Amazon always offers free shipping and no tax. This is not an added bonus.
Somehow $3 off is just not that great of an incentive for me to preorder.
Those are exactly my thoughts. I have no problem paying $60 for an amazing game, but frankly, not every game is worth $60. This should be the max price for a new game, not the standard.
