Personally I can see a difference between 720p and 1080p but geez guys I know you like your 720p sets but its almost twice the resolution, ofc your gonna see a difference :S
I just got the tingles thinking about walking down the hall with a flashlight.. then you hear the siren going!!!! and then you actually see the walls peeling and the environment changing in real time like in the movie instead of going straight from normal to hell.
The nex-gen has a lot of potential, let's hope they use utilise it!!!!!!!

Only thing that would take away from the hype a bit is that people kinda know what to expect with halo 3 where as if it was kept a secret people would be more skeptical.
Anyway go BUNGIE make some nice tweaks and make even the people that think it will be amazing surprised!
It it would be a given that Silent Hill would be the scariest game out on the new systems (Not including Res Evil since it was more jumpy and blowing things to bits than pure scary) but with Alan Wake coming out it's gonna have some darn stiff competition.
Give ps3 Silent Hill and let 360 have Alan Wake and LET THE BATTLE COMMENCE.....

For your responce. Yeah the sound fromy my ps3 playing blu-ray is amazing... I guess my question wasn't which format is better but which player is better.
You see Ps3's blu-ray player has been known to be one of the best blu-ray players on the market yet people say that the 360's HD DVD drive is one of the worse players available. I may splash out for the drive but I'm just praying that I'm not wasting my money :P

I am currently buying blu-ray movies for my ps3 so I guess I'm only supporting blu-ray, reason being its a safe bet since I don't have to spend money on a seperate player.
I need to know... can anyone who has a ps3 and the 360's HD-DVD drive tell me how the video quality compares please. I would like to buy the 360's hd-dvd drive for some of the movies I can't get on blu-ray but I'm scared about the quality.

Nah I just made the best judgement that I could from the screen sizes... Maybe my opinion would be completely different if the pics were massive :P
As far as the game is concerned I don't really know what to expect. It's got some tough tough competition with the likes of DMC4 and NG:SIGMA but it has potential.
Do you own both consoles btw?

I see where your coming from but I think this article refers to the 360 having 9.8mil sold at the time of Wii's launch... not where the sales are now.
Oh, and DJ I wouldn't go flapping your mouth at such a fast rate as your beloved ps3 isn't doing much better against the Wii.
Then again I don't like what they did with the Wii... Can you guys imagine if everyone had Ninty's attitude towards consoles. Bloody hell there would be no nex gen :(
