This is a business of making snap decisions for top dollar. Paramount and Dreamworks had NO PLAN to drop support of Blu-Ray, but they did.
I went to my local Gamestop in Dayton, OH and was told that all the Gamestops in the area only got enough to fill there pre-orders. I then went to Best Buy and they said they only got 4 copies in and they were in the process of ordering 4 more. Its rather obvious that all the bad press that the PS3 gets is causing retailers to hold back. Sooner or later they will have to realize that it is the consumers who decide supply and demand and not the media. I hope to get this game in a few days ...
Capcom distributes the Grand Theft Auto games in Japan, but Take Two distributes it here in the U.S.
I don't buy the excuse that Rockstar doesn't want to compete with the Microsoft AAA title Halo3, becaue by delaying it to Q2 2008 they will be competing with another AAA title in MGS4.
For everyone out there that wants to hold this story to be very true, did you notice that they said only 5.6 million 360's have been sold in the U.S. to date. I checked VG Chartz since that is the website everyone refers to for console sales and it says 6.64 million 360's have been sold in the U.S. So I ask you is this story TRUE or FALSE?
Microsoft should just issue a life time warranty ONLY for the red ring of death. I know electronics break down over a period of time, but they already stated that it was a design issue that causes the problem. That doesn't mean that every console will break, it just means that every console is at risk. To receive a free 3 year warranty on any console is a god send, but a life time warranty on a fault that you, Microsoft, and every Sony fanboy knows could happen would be a lot more reassuri...
I thought that in the PAL bundle you got to choose which 2 games you wanted from this list: Resistance, Motorstorm, RidgeRacer 7, F1 Championship Racing, and Genji. Now I know that Resistance is one of the better games but you dont have to choose that one. I saw the story posted on PSU.com
The title of this story had me thinking that it would be an arcade machine inside of Playstation Home. In stead it is just stating that it is coming to PS2.
The only thing that this chart proves for CONSOLE sales is that the cheaper you are the more you sell. PS2=$130 Wii=$250 Xbox360=$400 PS3=$600 The price is determining the order.
You started off on the right foot. I don't mind paying for Xbox live, because it is a lot better than the PSN. Then you pulled a 180 by refereing to Gran Turismo's plan to charge for each car and track (which would have been the dumbest move ever), but they didn't follow through with it. Instead they released what was already made for free and now they are working on the actual Gran Turismo 5 game now.
Microsoft will profit from this as well. If you remember the game is published by Microsoft Game Studios. Know I don't know the whole business setup, but in the music industry the publishers make 99% of the decisions when it comes to price and distribution which is why most artist today are going independent. So they both stand to make money. Epic is willing to take a hit, but the publisher is not.
I was thinking about trading that game in after playing it for a week. They are charging for some download content: Sudoku puzzle packs and Sonic missions.
Is it a way to set up the 360 so it doesn't auto start the disc when you put it in? If not I would like to add that feature.
I don't know the exact numbers from last gen, but the PS2 sold roughly 3 times more consoles than Xbox and Gamecube. That didn't put an end to either company it only made them come out with better products next gen. So everyone needs to quit trying to figure out who is going to win the next-gen war, because win or lose I don't see none of the console makers pulling a Sega anytime soon.
The only way that it would help the 360 sell is if it went totally exclusive to the 360.
I heard somewhere that it was going to be a game that was on a Sony platform before then became an Xbox exclusive, but now is going to come back. If this is true than expect something lame like Odd World.
thanks for the info
First time being an early adopter paid off.
It wouldn't matter if they put one in the 360, because they just don't have the studio support that blu-ray does. The only advantage that hd-dvd has right now is exclusive Universal movie support. I really would like to see Batman Begins on blu-ray.
I found this article to be very humorous! A top 10 list that actually starts on 7 and includes a movie. Or the fact that the guy is wearing a Project Gotham shirt. He should of just made Lair number 1 to top the humor off.
