I couldn't use the old xbox controller. ;__; I'm 5'1", so trying to play the original xbox was a struggle (and I also looked ridiculous. The controller being the size of my face, and all). I was so delighted when they changed the controller. I think the clouds opened up and I could hear a chorus of angels (dramatisation).
I had a weakness, and still do, for the game cube controller. Sure, there weren't too many games for it compared to the competition bu...
Same here. Can't play amnesia on a console.
Has anyone felt concerned about the Gaikai always-online functionality yet? Because I'm feeling just as uneasy about that as the xbox always online scheme. The only difference being that I won't have to use Gaikai, while, if I purchase an an xbox I'll be forced to face my crappy internet connection every time I power up my console. That won't be fun.
I can't get better internet. I live in an area of my city where everyone's internet is messed up. It really sucks.
I guess no nextbox for me.
Sigh. Always blaming video games. Doesn't all of the entertainment industries glorify gun violence in some way nowadays? Just think about the last action movie you saw recently. I can also think of a lot of books and music with gun violence. I just figured it was a reflection of our culture. Why do they expect video games to be the first to move away from gun violence when entertainment from that very thing is so prevalent in our culture?
AHAHAHAHA. Day made.
@JeffGUNZ
Well said. You're right that it does become a lot more affordable after launch. I do disagree on a few things you said, though.
I know I speak for more than myself when it comes to this. The folks who don't find it financially plausible to have both consoles this gen is a much larger group than you think it is. You just don't see many of them here on NG4, is all. As for your statement on people needing to be either a fanboy or super brok...
Thank you for this riveting insight into the issue of gamers' high expectations. I felt that your use of capitalization on all words starting with a "d" really helped me understand the core issues in gaming.
Thank you, miyamoto. You really changed the way I perceive games.
Wow, three PS3s and a 360 is affordable to you? Whatever job you have, I want it too.
I think I'm speaking for a lot of gamers when I say that I won't have both consoles, I'll have to choose. Consoles and games are expensive. I have to limit myself because I have bills to pay. I think that MS and Sony will have to be either very conscious to gamers' desires or money concerned consumers' desires to get the purchase from us. Or a combination thereof. I'...
Wow. This was painful to read. I would have liked to have seen more examples, other than just speculation. The point saying that games are lying, claiming they're Sandboxes before release, definitely needed more examples. How is this a full point if the writer doesn't even provide us with more than one example? I'm sure there are more, but honestly, it's your job to provide some of them instead of leaving the readers to try and make sense of your article.
I think sexism is more of a symptom of our culture than a gaming-specific issue. None the less, I don't think the documentary will necessarily be a bad thing. It might highlight some interesting points?
I really hope they try to make the documentary lighthearted instead of an intense "the reapers are coming!" method. I didn't buy a 360 back in the days when I was a teen because I was scared of all the frat boys telling me to get back in the kitchen. Nowaday...
