Far from it.
KZ2 is a great game but should have been the best console shooter there is - it is not. But it has so much potential to be so.
But as a person who played and enjoyed KZ1 more than Gears1, I can be a hard critic because I could see many areas where GG could improved on. Also, being an avid fan of Halo, Cod4 and Warhawk has made me even more citical.
Undoubtedly DLC and updates will improve the game. I'm hoping that GG does the following: ...

It's just nowhere near as "popular" nor as good looking. But it is more fun especially with a full 16 vs 16, epic sized map, the assortment of vehicles and players who know what they are doing.
An MP experience that hasn't been beaten yet, on a console.
And if Warkhawk 2 goes first person, has roll, sprint, climb & has MP/Lan bots then it will take the title of best shooter/fight action game for su...

MW2 will be awesome.
Like Epic, IW has alot of experience with shooters and has found the successful formula- actually, they we held back dealing with WW2 games- that makes a great shooter.
But they also consistently improve on their previous work - cod,cod2, cod4.
And even if it turns out to be MW 1.5 - which it won't - it will still be one of the best shooter MP games out there....and finally with RUMBLE for ps3 owners.

First thing:two can play this game so grow up.
Open you mind. Have you ever played Resistance with the amount of enemies it has? And I am not talking about first person nor over the shoulder camera but a much closer camera angle like Gears, Uncharted or RE5.
You just have to keep moving and looking around to see who's there, what they are, what threat are they to you etc, etc...then take the necessary action. This is elementary stuff here.

The trailer speaks for itself. The gameplay is BETTER with a closer 3rd person camera angle ....

Santa monica studios needs to change the camera angle to a tight 3rd person shot like in Gears of War....or infamous or RE5 or Uncharted or etc etc.

A close 3rd person camera angle would make the game truly unbelievable to play - feeling right in thick of battle/combat. Just imagine this same video clip with an over the shoulder camera of Kratos in battle. The act...
Hope the closer camera shots are similar to gears of war, making the player feel closer to the action. This would make GoW3 next gen as well as the graphics.
Can't wait to see actual gameplay.
The Ps3 will rocket in sales once it has the right price and games....including the ps3 version of the wii-mote.
It's like a sleeping giant in Japan, waiting for the right time to cause chaos and destruction...to its competition.
But I just want the rumored snap-apart Play-mote for fast-as aiming with shooters.
Just want my Modern Warefare...2....with rumble, with no noisey fan in the back ground nor concerns about a scratched disc/clean disc message.
Will likely be shooter goty unless KZ2 gets some awesome updates/DLC over the next 8 months. Vehicles please.

Sony lucked out with the poor world economy, the Wii and xbox 360 1 year head start.
But they still also mucked up by including the expensive bluray with the Ps3.
Sony should have released BOTH a cheap-as DVD Ps3(~$300) AND the expensive Bluray Ps3(~$600) in Nov 2006.
Developers would then release their games on BOTH DVD(s) & Blu-ray - just like the Movie companies are doing with their films. Sheez....
It has MP gameplay better than CoD4 and Halo 3....but very few out there know this nor have given Warhawk a serious run. Sheez, if only it had MP/Lan Bots then it would be one of the greatest Shooter games ever - even without SP.
Also Heavenly Sword & Folklore were very unappreciated.

Warhawk 2 is needed now.
32 vs 32, kz2 graphics, first person shooter, first person sprint, roll, climb, kick AND.....MP/LAN BOTS.
SP not needed but would be more than willing to buy W2 with all these improvements.
Warhawk is still one of the best MP experiences out there but it can be even better.
Just bring us Warhawk 2.....with 32 vs 32, KZ2 graphics, in first person perspective with sprint, roll, climb, kick functions & new weapons, vehicles, maps.
But if there's a Warhawk-like game in space then OK. Where's my wallet?
But all the main features of XBL - the competition - should have been copied and implemented on the PSN from day one.
And when is all said and done, the most important thing is that we can play online for free from get go. All the other features are nice but convenient, free online play is it.....PERIOD.
Just produce their own OS based either on Linux or open BSD(like Apple OsX) then they can dual boot their Ps3s and PCs/Laptops....and scare the sh1t out of MS.
Unless:
Sony - cuts its price, releases a new controller(their version of a Wii-mote), produces a Linux/Unix based OS tested on the Ps3 but also Sony PCs/Laptops.
Apple - Ports Apple Os X to PCs and Apple Inc becomes a Premiere PC manufacturer AND PC OS rival to Windows.

If GG brings on major improvements over the next 8 months then it could still be a contender for at least FPS goty.
...would be good if they fixed the AI to elite/Veteran so your chances of survival are minimal.
Unranked bots if AI is less.
Otherwise, nice to hear regular patches - make Kz2 better.
But they really do need to get rid of the spawn flares and redo the ranking so it's much harder to get. And make the Airbots more dangerous/useful - they are just too easy to take out.
Oh, yeah - bring on mechs/tanks/jeeps.
