The 2k NBA franchise is a ton better than what EA will produce. You wont find a more polished sports game.
Im seriously hoping EA does not get exclusive rights to NHL and NFL when their contract runs out. 2k has not let NBA fans down with their game like EA does with NHL and Madden.
Its also pretty exciting that the console war is about to begin. This is a smart move sure, but the masterstroke was the teaser trailer.

I think its simpler to think along the lines the the playstation is still the most popular console in Japan. Xbox will unlikely ever have priority.
There is also the multiplat Lightning Returns whose release date is unknown and there could be a chance in might be an announcement that FF14 will be released on the Nextbox too.
