whoever thinks this is a surprise must be living under a rock for more than 2 decades. Just like VHS, it passed the Baton to DVD, the same took place a while ago with DVD to Blu-Ray. this is a natural sales slump. its called the successor of a format that people have finally taken notice to.
well knowing so far that they might name this PSP, the PSP Go, i assume that it will have integrated features from those Go software apps that sony sold for the PSP, like the messaging service, the camera, and of course the mic and maybe a built in GPS.
"But if they're going to be getting rid of the UMD drive, why not make it a PSP2 instead? You could still release all those games for download and just have backwards compatibility."
because naming the portable a PSP2 means that there's a graphics upgrade or in other words, it has next-gen portable graphics. This rumored PSP doesnt do that, not to mention it doesn't have a touch screen nor a second analog stick, it all this was put into the PSP1 this late, there would ...
as long as they continue to offer gamers with AAA quality games, and that they bring a great amount every year and they keep suppressing the price to make it more affordable for them and you, then its never too late.
