they forgot one thing: Home could replace the PS XMB in the future if there is a demand for it, it could be implemented this way in the Next playstation.
yup, yup, yup, yup, coming from the same guys that tried to shut it down by telling tosh to continue building the HD-DVD format to start a format war, that way they can look like the real heroes that killed both formats by commencing Digital Distrubution, but miserably lost.

"Tanaka made mention of all the major platforms in his discussion with Nikkei, but one in particular got praise: the PS3. In previous interviews, Tanaka has shared his opinion that Sony's online platform for the PS3 fits well with Konami. That stance hasn't changed, he said, noting that the open nature of Sony's online platform, in contrast to the regulations placed on the Wii and Xbox 360 online systems, gives Konami a lot of freedom."
-Translation, He <3 PSN more...
it probably has a lot to do with home, think about it, looking at your trophies via the official PSN or IM someone from your PC to the PS3, just like that concept that was shown last year during E307 but now integtated in the Official PS website.
its going to be time that will judge wether blu-ray will slowly kill the DVD or not. By the end of this year you will see that Hi-Def Market Grow at least in the US, these same people will buy blu-ray. Since TV broadcasting is switching to Digital Broadcasting, BD winning the format war and consoles are now becoming HD enabled, it wont be long until the consumer will make up a reason as to why they have to switch their old boxed tvs to a new shiny HDTV.
they're over a year late, they cant do anything now.
you know thats going to be fixed.
there is a remedy for that, its MGS4 that will keep it about 40,000 a week in the long term, and a decent price cut that can compete with the Wii for the short term, they dont need to compete with the 360 in Japan, just look at the sales for that console.
