Yes, iTunes and other download sites are successful but still only make up a small fraction of the music industry's income with CD's still the primary source of income.
Digital Distribution IS the future, but it's going to be several years before everyone has hi-speed internet and home devices with a big enough hard drive to store all of that media.

The article about a week ago talking about how most non-fanboy gamers will simply ignore the DLC or not even know about it will more than likely spring for the PS3 because Rock* and PS are synonimous with the GTA series.
Brand recognition is a very powerful tool and I think most people will just head on over to the PS3. Keep your DLC bots, I'm sticking with what works, and that's the PS3.
