Spin off are usually in the same setting and place.
Example: look at ff12, and FF tactic sam place( Ivalice),
FF7, crises core, dirge of ceribus, etc... those are spin off because of same world.

But look at FF13vs, you will not find pulse or any reference of the of f13 in the story accept for it's about
crystal, which all the other final fantasy talk about; but this happen to be the priority topic of three games.
They are completely different cast and worl...

that's why they were ever so quiet...hmm
now it make sense right???
and you know ff vs demo will be out right after ff13 to tease/lure people.
