I was initially interested in this game until I saw gameplay on Youtube recently.
This looks pretty bad. The physics and handling of the cars look horrible.

DarthJay hits the nail on the head. You buy a console(or anything really) early and at full price to use it right away. That is the benefit.

I have no problem playing with a Wii remote and nunchuck combination.
Played all last gen with that combination and it is 100% fine.
My favourite track of all time.
The Excitebike track is pure awesome.
