PS3 had amazing exclusives and obviously online play was free and still PS+ was worth it because of games they offered. Those were the days. Jump from PS2 to PS3 was also big. Although sales wise it is behind other PS console. IMHO PS3 is a legend. Hope Sony goes for high end console and really fast cpu also next time.

How many millions they paid for GTA IV I think it was 50million? They will have to shell lot of money for timed exclusive deal as almost all games sells more on PS4 which has more than 2x user base. PS4 has great line of games this year so this timed exclusive I am not sure is going to have much impact.
Sigh ... 4K or so is soo overrated. Microsoft need games this year otherwise PS4 and Switch are going to bury the Xbox.

Someday I will try Nintendo. Sony though is the best console with all genre of games. Exclusive as well as 3rd party support. That is why I think Nintendo can never beat Sony.

My guess is 2020. Next year PS4Pro slim will be released so may be 2yrs is enough for it. Most important for PS5 is BC of PS4 games at 4K. By that time I will probably upgrade to 4K as well. So that one console plays all the last gen games as well. Even if that means 2021 or 600$ so be it. No BC then do not release the console.
The thing I hate about PS4 is no BC but I guess PS3 architecture was too complex and not worth for them to have special chip to run PS3 games.
