The first games (maybe this whole gen) we'll probably only see racing games or simple sports games in 3D. Games that don't require a lot of changing environments that can run at 1080p/ 60fps. We won't see large games until the 3D tv's get a larger user base.
To those above: the current 3D games are using red/blue glasses for 3D (avatar and toy story games).
Sony just licensed the real(D)3D tech for their new TV's and will probably be the standard they use for the PS3 games.
I would like to see more about the xperia x10. Hopefully with android 2.0/1. Sony's been doing this a while. They'll pick the right time and place to make ps3 anouncements
the 3D being used in these new TVs and games is different from old school red/blue 3D. It's the tech used in the Avatar movie and in IMAX theaters. PS3 has been/will be upgraded to the new 3D standard for displaying games and BR movies.
I could make $60 million in a day:(
that people buy a new Wii with every nintendo game they purchase. 1+ million consoles a week is insane
looks really good. I'm still not sold on the 360, but... maybe.
or does anyone else think that a lot of the games look terrible on the big screen at the awards
the update, under data transfer utility (System Settings) it says "even saved data that is copy-protected can be transfered (moved)
can be transfered. it says it in the update.
of this game. I sometimes leave it loaded in my PS3 so I can play it on my PSP when I travel.
The research triangle (Raleigh/Durham) area is attracting a lot of game companies. Epic games is in Cary, NC and now Insomniac. When I finish school hopefully I'll be able to get a job with one.
3D. 3D + motion controls = awesome
Edit:plus the sixaxis is more accurate than the wiimote is right now.
the wand and Natal will have a lot of early adopters. I want to see what types of games M$ will come up with for their controller and if Sony will get support for its controller with 3D support. Red Steel and Force Unleashed will be awesome in 3D. FPS too.
are trying to do something a little different to capture a portion of the market. I think PS3's ability to easily be upgraded has given it a slight advantage. Adding the new "wand" with 3D games should make 2010 an interesting year.
I made an animated science project about virus replication using mario paint in the 8th grade!
Sony could have easily (and still can) beat apple to the punch with a 3G phone gaming device. If apple gets out first, they'll corner the market for sure.
makes a difference...
IGN makes it seem like the PS brand is doing horrible. In reality based on these numbers in 07
Nintendo has about 50% of US hardware sales
Sony has about 34% of US hardware sales
Microsoft has about 16% of US hardware sales
Not the market share Sony's used to, but not bad considering. I don't see that going down anytime soon. 2008 is looking like it's going to be a good year for the PS brand.
Especially if they do games like MLB the Show in 3D + motion control. Sony has enough first party studios to support it's products. More so than even Nintendo which means they'll have more quality games.
