If Sony had requested for crossplay that many times before then why do they need to reject it now? Especially since this lead to a very bad PR for them currently?
A bunch of new studios and new games which N4G has always conveniently forget.
Isn’t it great? The more people can play games, the better, especially since now the PS4 can crossplay with the X1, PC, and Switch without a hitch.

Why need that? MS, Nintendo, and PC all do crossplay well without any strings attached.

From a business standpoint then yes, there are nothing wrong. But we aren’t businessmen in this case, are we? We are gamers, and from gamer’s point of view, this is totally wrong.
Crossplay has many benefits for games and gamers. You can play with your friends on other consoles. It makes the player base bigger so gamers have more people to play with. It makes matchingmaking waiting time shorter due to the expanded player base. Heck, even online games that usually aren’t act...
I would rather have a Fallout New Vegas or Fallout 4 port.

But they do have more exclusive games to come such as Halo, Fable, Forza Horizon 4, Crackdown 3, Gears 4, Ori, Session, Tunic, Black Desert, and the new Cuphead. Those are all console exclusive, mind you.

If you want new games beside Forza, Halo, Gear, and Fable, then they do have Ori, Session, Tunic, Black Desert, the new Cuphead, and other unannounced titles from their new first party studios.

How is it a modified port when the devs clearly stated that it is a whole new game with a new engine as well?

Did MS confirm that? Because as far as I know they haven’t confirm if those games are coming next gen or this gen or will be cross gen.
