In gaming industry, it's the experience that sells. Only small demographics have interest in specs. Ninty's after the mass market, not geeks or some technophile.
$300 at most, and still making profit for Ninty. By the release time of wiiU, the tech and manufacturing cost will be cheap enough already. So yes, it's actually a Wii 2. But I doubt it would become as successful as the Wii.
Don't worry. The PS4 will support multiple tablet, and you'd praise them as the most innovative company in the world for doing that, am I right?
