They have stated many times that the fox engine will scale to next gen platforms, but the demo that was shown was on current gen (or I assume how they want it to look on current gen hardware as it was played on PC). I am also positive that there will be a next gen rerelease (directors cut)
Ye Christian Bale said he was a huge fan of the series, so I am sure with the right director he'd want to be in.
Reports are indicating that it was running on PC but with current gen settings "Current-gen game confirmed, the demo was on a PC based on PS3/360 hardware specs".
According to Famitsu.com's report, Metal Gear Solid Ground Zero is the name of the real time demo Kojima Productions showed at the event. But it is also being made into an actual open world game.
Story hints in the script include "soldiers who cannot return home", "Paz"...
"Ground Zero targets current generation specifications. Famitsu reports that Kojima Productions is also working on next generation development."

They said game was running on current gen PC, does that mean there will also be future console versions as well? any way can't wait, open world MG is gonna rock.
Not really, if you have 1gb card then there is actually little to no fps reduction which is what surprised a lot of people.
Wow those are the missions they gave in the demo? The game gets a lot better than that. I think people will be surprised with how awesome the full game is.
I am sure the PC version will be better than in the past, as Rockstar has said they want to focus on PC now- for example they said max payne 3 was done by them on PC instead of outsourcing (and it shows).
Love the look of the game, wish they did a proper comparison with actual gameplay

Theres actually quite a big difference if you see gameplay and not cutscenes, the high res texture pack really helped and the extra effects were great too.
Anyway they will always cater for consoles, its where majority of the money comes in, only a true PC exclusive that tries to push graphics will be way ahead. Same reason why many exclusives on consoles can look better than multiplatform games as they will play to each platforms strength. (I feel like people can't think...
Anyway we are already seeing a change with Rockstar as Max Payne 3 (PC easily the best and released soon after consoles) pointed out. So if thats the quality we can expect from GTA 5 then its gonna be all roses and dx11.
Have to agree more with your assessment, although for me its a 9/10. Fighting for me has been great especially when you realise its not trying to be batman, in fact the only thing it has in common is the counter button(plus as mentioned batman flies across the room to do counters which basically means its a safety button).
Driving was strange for the first half an hour, but once you get used to it then it really is a lot of fun- and you'll be sliding around corners at f...
I am really loving this game (PC version), easily a 9/10 for me. I don't want it to end which is always a positive sign. Also the combat upgrades you get later on are awesome.Driving took a while to get used to but now its second nature and I am really enjoying it. I love the gunplay and soundtrack. Can't wait for a sequel, makes me wish they had a bigger team and budget like Rockstar.
I think you will find you are in the minority, I have read many people say it is one of their best open world games. On GAF I have read 3 or 4 people say its their game of the year so far. And I think many people will rate it as an 80% and up game. I personally give it a 9.
I would say it would be awesome if it had euphoria physics, especially with the fighting system.
GTA 5 probably not. But I am having more fun with SD than I did with GTA 4, I love hand to hand combat, love all the side missions (some of those are funny- taking pictures of a sunset with a character trying to be in the picture). gunplay is cool. Has awesome radio soundtrack, excellent story. Really I am sure they are just happy that people are putting them up as one of the top sandbox games like GTA especially considering their smaller team and much lower budget.
PC has ended up the best they included a bunch of new features, plus a 4 gig high res texture pack for free, and there has been 4 patches. Probably one of the best ports.
I love the comics, so I hope this does them justice.
You heard wrong.
Famitsu said its aimed at this generation of consoles. I'm not sure what the actual demo was running on as it could be high end hardware that will have certain assets scaled back for this generation of consoles, and then the high end stuff put onto next gen hardware. Not sure though.
