It's not exactly what the UK gaming industry needed, but its a start :)
It's kinda funny how many people here don't realise this is a joke.
I don't see why a new game HAS to do something new or special. I mean, yes, of course it would be great. But even in a saturated market, the formula works, and from a business point of view, millions of people LOVE the current formula. No point drastically changing something if the risk could potentially harm sales.
I'm sorry, but a game does NOT need to sell millions and millions of units to be a success. Yes, it hasn't achieved COD numbers, but the whole point of creating a new IP is to first establish a brand, and then expand on it. It wasn't until COD 4 where sales started to really make headlines.
If I worked at Microsoft, and I got to choose the spokesperson who spoke about this new tech, you know what? I'd choose the guy who'd just won a bafta. It's all about publicity and marketing, and Peter Molyneux is in the spotlight right now, so it makes sense. Yeah, he does over promise, you're right. But I just think people are being WAY too judgemental.
This guy is obviously kissing Sony's arse.
"Kinect sales will die down quickly" - how is this related to E3?
"Uncharted 3 receives most GotY awards, followed by Infamous 2 and LBP2" Seriously!? I can understand Uncharted 3, but followed by these two? As much as they're great games, I fully believe the strong multi-platform releases will out perform them.
This is hilarious. If this article was about Naughty Dog or Santa Monica talking about the PS3's future power, then everyone would be like "OMG this is amazing. PS3 always giving. the cell ftw" But as soon as its something about the 360...automatically it MUST be untrue :@
I think everyone is being kinda harsh. He set up a company, Bullfrog...with one other guy, and released Populous...thought to be the first PC 'God' game. Then they released Dungeon Keeper. Then he helped setup ANOTHER company, Lionhead Studios, who released the Black and White games and the Fable games. He is without a doubt the most prominent British developer, and has helped the UK become a strong player in the video game market. I'm studying a video game course and I'm incr...
That comment is DISGUSTING. Seriously, grow up!
My boyfriend is a gamer, so our relationship is pretty competitive sometimes ^_^
As a bisexual person, I don't feel that gay/bisexual people HAVE to be represented in video games, but if they are going to be, then they need to be there for a purpose relating to the story/situation, not just there for the sake of it, trying to please everyone. As for your comments, saying that "gay men and trannies are just disgusting", well, as people have already said, its your opinion, but clearly, a very backwards one.
Hahaha xD
That guy holding the controller in the pic...I'm sure I've seen him in a pornography film, and a gay one at that xD
even if it does sell for just a few months...it'll still sell more than most games do in their life time.
Yes, MS will be making a killing when Halo Reach comes out. They are publishing the game, and they own the IP. Activision has nothing to do with Halo.
He said that Conviction isn't the game coming to PS3, but the future Splinter Cell games. I guess it's kinda like a MGS situation, MGS4 on PS3, and future MGS games go multi.
Mass Effect 2 anyone?
If it was "Bungie to keep making Halo games as long as there is demand", then everyone would be like, "OMG WTF HALO IS A CASHCOW LOLZ" Its funny to see people have a different opinion if its their favourite franchise. I say, if the quality remains, then keep 'em coming!
For the people who say that sales don't matter as long as the games are great, well you'll be in for a surprise in the future. Developers will take less risks with their games if they don't get enough money. This could range from the length of games, quality etc or even releasing a sequel. And this goes for all systems.
Congrats! Good news for the industry!
