Yes, Sony were ready - a year after the Xb launched. They weren't ready to launch the PS3 when MS launched Xb.
2 reasons:
1.
MS started this gen a year early, Sony weren't ready for next gen. This 1 year difference allowed MS to gain considerable ground in the US.
2.
Money.
They wouldn't seriously consider porting that antiquated Gamebryo mutilation to the Vita :D
I've been thinking about this, maybe Sony are going to use Gaikai for streaming their 4K content (alongside games of course). The interviews at CES with Kaz, one of the big questions was how are they going to deliver the content to consumers. This would make perfect sense seeing as Sony (as far as I'm aware) don't stream video content yet.
Apparently Q4 2013 is a dead cert. This would mean Jan-March 2014 by Japans fiscal year.
