Sony is a failure. If M$ acquired that failure, it would negatively influence their great success with all hardcore gamers.
Of course it's selling. MGS is the only reason Sony even still has a games division to this day. We hardcore gamers (360 owners since launch) waited until MGS to finally come-out to get a PS3rd-place.
