Yup yup! As I pointed out in the article, the Wiiware version even retains the slowdown!
Misleading headline is misleading. Here is the actual quote from the story:
"Because we don’t care about single individuals, we care about everyone."
I'm going through it again right now :)
Would you call life a defect and a failure, then? Because no matter how good or bad you are, the end is the same for everyone.
Here's an AWESOME look at the "indoctrination" theory regarding the ending:

It's a bit long, but read the whole thing; you'll be glad you did.
As for myself, here's what I had to say about it:

Here's my reasoning for the particular Solar Fields track I chose:
"The synth work will undoubtedly break immersion for some, but I think fighting a dragon would be a completely different experience with an understated song, rather than a rousing epic score. I feel like it would seem more…personal."
Not really...this is all music that I listen to on a regular basis. After matching up three of them in my head without even meaning to, I just decided to put it together.
Matching up music with video games is a small hobby of mine :)
I know it sounds crazy, but it really does make a big difference...it completely changes the characters' personality, which, for an RPG that prides itself on character interaction and development, is kind of a big deal :)
Man...I feel like there's more E3 media than ever to watch. This year has been real hit or miss, though...either an announcement or trailer has been amazing, or it has resulted in a resounding "meh".
The writer spends the whole article crushing this title, but in the last sentence, he says:
"Though it will never be the perfect MK, it could very well be the fighting game that I play the most this decade."
Soo...does he hate it, or not? Sounds like a case of Stockholm Syndrome. No worries, dude...I understand :) This is pretty much how I felt about Civilization V.
With the exception of Disney's DOS classic Coaster, of course :)
Aw c'mon...haven't you ever thought to yourself "Man, that was a crappy day...I could really go for a Target game!"
:)
I'm a bit surprised there wasn't anything from Secret of Mana or Etrian Odyssey...
None of you have ever watched tv or a movie while playing a game? You''ve obviously never had a Civ LAN :p
I'm playing through Radiant Historia now, which is why it isn't on the list. I assure you that had I made this list AFTER I started playing through it, Historia would certainly be on there...it's amazing! If you notice a bit further down in the article, I mention that a Redditor had pointed out a couple of games missing from the list that I never played (a list that includes Devil Survivor). As for The World Ends With You, I REALLY REALLY REALLY tried to like it, I honestly did......
Thanks!
The only thign that makes me not so sure it will do any good is the continued focus on consoles as lead platforms. Even if they're more powerful, making software easily translatable is essential to continuing success in the PC market.
Not to mention the severe lack of PC exclusives, which is one of the reasons I think so much rests on the shoulders of Battlefield 3 and Diablo III.
No assumptions at all...if you notice, the first few sentences say "Immersive games don't necessarily have to be scary, but they tend to be. Whether or not this is due to our innate reaction to fear is beyond me, but I think the adrenaline rush that comes with being "in the moment" is much easier to obtain through fear."
I'm not saying fear = immersion, I'm just saying games that keep you on edge are generally better at keeping you "in th...
That would be correct! I actually have both Condemned games sitting in my "to do" pile, but...well...you know how that goes :)
Er...just realized you meant the remastered version, not the original -_-;;
