I really hate this about this generation... I think all the different SKUs are just confusing the consumers.
Software patches are bad enough.. but hardware patches too? *Sigh*
There were a lot of good points.. but there was a lot of nitpicking as well
Nintendo isn't outselling the Wii to the ps3 and the 360 by selling to the hardcore or mainstream gamer (i.e. the last generation market)...
Almost all those sales are to people who have never played games or bought a console before (the casual market).. so they are not fighting for the same market share anymore.
Maybe they have a way of differentiating between a machine you built yourself and one that you've downloaded..
but even if that were so.. you could just download a machine, see how it worked, and then build it yourself to get around it.
If people are determined to undermine their own fun, you can't put up enough road blocks to stop them from doing it.
It's like comparing the console market to speed boats.. they are big fast and powerful. Enthusiasts love them and constantly want bigger, better and faster. It's been like this for a few generations now..
And then someone designs an inflatable dingy.
Suddenly everyone and their grandma (literally) thinks they are a sailor because they have a boat now. And lots and lots of people buy them because while a speed boat is nice, it is also expensive and intimidating.. while t...
The time at the end of game may be less than 5 hours... but unless you are the luckiest man on earth I guarantee that a lot more than that was spent actually attaining the run through. The freaking motorcycle ride alone probably took me 20 tries on the hardest level to figure out how to survive without killing anyone. It really is quite challenging.

You may not find it funny... (I chuckled a few times, but I'll acknowledge that it is 100% bait and I wouldn't past something like it myself) but the article is satirizing the xbox fanboys from the perspective of a ps3 fanboy. So unless you are in fact a xbox fanboy or a ps3 fanboy, then you shouldn't take any offense to it either.

Now that would be sweet.. plausible too. Firmware 2.40 is supposed to be out in June anyway. It might as well coincide with one of the biggest launches of the year.
