Dat big cat.
@darkride66
No, they didn't they bought the shares in 2001 for around ~$30.
Sony has sold their entire stake in SE, and doing exactly that, 'cut their losses', which isn't too bad considering last year SE shares were around 1000-1300yen. On top of this, it's as you say, Sony have no gain keeping SE shares, in the last 10 years we have seen nothing but half-assed bait 'n switch projects.
Too be honest, it's a good move:
- Cash now
- Investment loss, which can be carried indefinitely to reduce taxable in...
The real facts is that Square Enix dropped by 15% in 6 days.
- No games in short term.
- External development titles did not hit expected return on investment.
- Long term titles will net expected sales (no growth).
On top of this Sony has owned the stake since 2001 at a price of 3000 yen. If you add in all that inflation mumbo jumbo to the price of 1700yen, they've basically lost 50% of the investment. All for what gain? Lost FFXIII excl...
Sony Vegas is good software, makes it very efficient to work on a many laptops because it's Nvidia CUDA core compatible. Makes rendering 10 minute 1080p videos go from 2hrs to 1.5hrs hahaha.
He would convince himself that it's on a new platform that it would come "with DLC, enhanced visuals, extras " which makes the full price tag well worth it.....oh wait.
The hilarity is that Nintendo didn't move an inch, yet Kotaku stirred the crap up and will conclude on it's own mess.
Those are actually very fair prices.
I'd probably buy a few HDD bay covers to do some custom work with.
I played the game with a HMD, so I've never played it where the whole screen was in focus for me. I reckon this will be a great way to revisit it. But the price tag is a bit unappealing.
I don't think it's because of they are cheaper to produce. All the most popular titles have the backing of publishers that are common names in even console markets. It's more a case the people are fine paying for micro-transactions and it fits their life-style playing them. Payments systems are made even more convenient when they partner with cellular providers to charge it all on the phone bill later.
As long as they stay away from Samsung panels, they'll be fine.
Calm down. You've just compared Prologue to this mess of a MGS5 rip-off. And now you think suddenly you're hands-free of not saying anything of Prologue?
You've misread my point anyway. I'm not trying to say Prologue doesn't play like GT5. I'm saying Prologue doesn't really belong in a 'demo' or 'tutorial' category since they provided so much value to be a full game.
And why shouldn't I take a 'pop' at A...
I speak the language and live in the country.
Unfortunately, it's English, you need have a rethink if you think 'like' mean the same as 'is'.
If Kojima wanted to say 'is a Tutorial' he would have just said "今回はチュートリアルなので..." instead he chose the worlds "今回はチュートリアル的な位置づけなので& quot ; Now ask yourself, in a tweet where word count is precious why would he use "的な位置づけな"?
But hey, you've w...
GT prologue played nothing like GT5. Game engine, graphics, controls, presentation were different. Cars, tracks and online was different. It also received patches to the point of hitting v3.0 around 2gb. And it was released over 3 yrs before GT5.
Is that a demo?
If anything we need to stop those yearly FIFA titles. At full price and with barely any changes. Now that's theft if you ask me.
It is a translation issue, you've just shoved the phrase into google translation without understanding the subtlety of the language.
Have a re-read of the whole sentence rather than draw a conclusion based on one word.
"we checked out the original tweet in Japanese, and he really did say “tutorial” in English (transliterated in Katakana) even there."
Fail, he said 'like a tutorial', not 'is a tutorial'. Quite a big difference in context. Shouldn't write articles based on putting words in someone else's mouth.
Nonetheless I get their point.
Amazon has had this price for months before release.
The game only has a 'main mission'. All the other missions are twists on the same map that have different objectives.
Definitely shouldn't be a demo, the story content here basically wraps up Peace Walker. I guess you could say this is Peace Walker's true ending, since what we got...well yeah if you played it you will know.
Don't know why people complain about the stealth sections, played through the game bracing myself for the 'moment' that all the reviews talk about, but it never came. There were stealth events, but they were so easy, since they gimped all the enemies line of sight. Did I miss something?
This is a good one, I even play the mobile version on my phone.
