The only games that really require multiple discs are ones that use FMV. FFXIII has less than 7gb of gameplay but the rest is FMV.
All MS has to do is allow developers who require a lot of space to use the HD similar to PC game installs. Arcade users should just go buy a HD if they want to play certain games. Bluray really isn't needed, PC games all come on DVD.
^^Mostly 360?? It's the biggest on PSN also. Personally I gave up on this game..I'll be playing perfect dark come next week lol
Here are some numbers to ponder on since we are all being fanboys in here...
FFXIII PS3 Day 1 - 290,000
FFXIII 360 Day 1 - 160,000
Halo 3 Day 1 - 2,000,000
Halo Reach Day 1 - ?,???,???
^^ I don't expect much from square anymore and VS is no exception. When they said towns would take too long to make and they'd only do a FFVII remake if it took less than a year well you get the picture. I'm sure VS will be lacking also sadly.
Lots of people buy xbox so not sure what you're getting at. Both systems have good games..it's silly to argue.
I'd say it's mainly to get people in Halo reach beta in May. Speaking of which I wonder how ODST sales are..cannot wait for reach.
I picked up the FFXIII bundle yesterday..very good imo 2 controllers, 250gb hd and the game for $399
I rarely go in home but went the other day when battlefield servers were down. Checked out the theatre..that tester show is soooooooo dumb! It's funny watching the people get emotional on there. I thought this one guy was about to cry when he met jaffe wtf lol.
How is 160k on the 1st day bad?
A lot of people purchased a ps3 at launch just for this title. 360 numbers are good though and I'm sure square is happy
Of course Sony are about money, all businesses are, to think otherwise is just silly. Why do you think the original PS3 had so many more features than the slim. They were losing too much money on those features and had to cut back. Everyone is calling out MS for buying up games but Sony did the exact same thing in the PS1 days.
I am beginning to think it's not MS's fault FF was gimped it's square after they said towns take to long to make and they would only remake FFVII if it took less than a year. They are just lazy now.
I think certain games should require a hard drive. If you're an arcade user you're just SOL or buy a HD.
They should do this now. PS3 titles tell you how much HD space is required. If you have an arcade system go buy a HD..that simple
I'm not sure if it will go away completely but there is definitely a shift towards digital. 1080p instant streaming on xbox live is brilliant. I really wouldn't have an issue with DD, MS servers are rather quick and I can download 1gb+ downloads very fast.
Bluray really wouldn't be needed if MS allows the HD to used like a PC for game installs which sounds what they might be doing. All the special edition bundles now have 250gb HD's and the 250gb is on gamestop so who knows. The arcade system should just be obliterated. PC uses DVD and it works just fine it just that it unpacks all the data onto the drive. Sony does this for certain titles, MS needs begin doing this for games that need it.
I suspect future games on xbox may be more like PC game installs using the hard drive to unload data.
Erm well PSP Go is going the digital route
Cause they make money off accessories?
