If you mean, did the creators of HD-DVD had a hand in the creation of DVD. Than, yes. However, so did the creators of BluRay. Toshiba, Sony, etc.

as I do agree with the price tag being too high, (and really disagree with the name calling). I, however, see the Sony's version of the OLED tv's being better than the Samsung's.

Samsung's contrast ratio = 5,000:1 at the moment.

Sony's contrast ratio = 1,000,000:1

So yes they are more expensive, I'm not getting one til the price drops and the size grows, but other OLED tv's are not as good as Sony's. Best to stick with an LCD, Plasma, or better yet...

However, this will not go to fruition any time soon. DD is out now, but is no where near the competition of said format (DVD/Blu...). And as such, will not go head to head against hard copies in the near future. As one of my bros stated "digital distribution is the future of media", I agree. But that's exactly when this media will be accepted by the mass... in the future (years from now, not months).

Us gamers, techies, etc... are the minority. The few who have a decent ...

Damn Blu, that was cold man. :P

so I guess this was the reason Sony never saw fit to release a PSPhone. No point if it was going to have the same feature, but free for it's users. I love the idea that it would be totally free (as long as both parties are using Skype), and I heard from users that you can even make calls across the Globe. A welcomed addition I say. *Small Gripe* I just wish Sony had released a PSP with that Go!Cam built in :( But oh well :P

First off, I love my 360, and I PREFER not to comment on bashes between both consoles. But that was funny as hell bro. I got to remember that one. Bubble+ heading your way :)

that wouldn't be so shocking. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" can be stated here. Micros 2 rivals teaming up for this "format war" could just be the beginning. And imagine Apple helping Sony with an iTunes like software for games. iGame, iPlay or something named like that :P Apple and Sony becoming allies, I don't seeing anything wrong with that. Both companies sell high priced, well built products that are easy to use and packaged beautifully. My opinion ofcourse.

*sadly looks in the direction of the "Disagree" number*

Edit: DAAAAAA..... There it is! :O

That's cool bro. But let me put it to ya this way, I'm the Youngest of 4 brothers (I'm 23), and even I know how bad lil' brothers are :P

I know we in the US don't have many Over-the-air digital channels. BUT I DON'T CARE :( By 2009, all our channels will be digital, so we can atleast have PlayTV to look at the channels we have now :P

Imagine if you wanted to watch the game of your favorite sports team. But you had to take your Misses to a family get together, and you forgot to set you TV to record. You can use your PSP to record the game and watch it later. Or even watch it on your PSP :P

"Enjoy your favorite TV shows, movies, homemade videos and more on the go with LocationFree TV and TivoToGo." O_O WTH!?

BTW: So will this Skype support be our version of Europe's Go!Messenger?

I never really heard of an online/shooter/puzzle/platform er game. Shoot-outs like Gears yet a race through jumps and puzzles to your goal. Add some stuff like team objectives and you got something that would be fun as hell online.

I think cap'n means built-in Hd-DVD and wifi, instead of accessories. But either way, I do agree with ya. I don't believe it's going to be something about HD-DVD. Like you said, it could be about IPTV. But what ever it is, I hope it's good.

BTW: Technically, PS3 has a bigger HDD. What I think is dope about the PS3, is it's ability to allow the swapping of the HDD. I'm thinking of upgrading mines to 250gb :P

I think it may be some time until Sony releases a good size/decent priced OLED. I'm definitely getting one, but until that time, I'm looking forward to Canon's SED.

@ Nick:
SED's get a contrast Ratio of 100,000:1 (not a small feat), however Sony's OLED contrast is 1,000,000:1. And it is said SED's have a 20 milliseconds response time. While OLED's have a response time of 0.01ms or less. SED Tv's are amazing, but OLED's are just friggin' crazy :P

however, the Street Fighter EX games were not made by Capcom. It was published by Capcom, but not developed. SFex was made by Arika.

I forgot about that, a refresher for my bros...

http://www.engadget.com/200...

but I think people are excited about Sony's version because of it's contrast ratio. Samsung's OLED is 5000:1 while Sony's OLED is said to be 1,000,000:1

BTW: SED TV's do seem pretty dope, I'm more into OLED though. But until OLED gets cheaper and bigger, I may have to get me an SED...

I got nothing against Rear Projectors, but I prefer the thin TV's (just my preference, no need to get angry brothers). I'm so mad at Sony for not releasing a 60 inch Bravia flat panel :P The 70" is too much money ($32,999) and the 52" is not big enough (IMHO). I love my Front Projector, but I want a decent sized TV (60") for my living area :( So hopefully this decision by Sony gets me closer to that elusive 60" Bravia Flat Panel :P

this sucker looks dope, and I would love to have one. But the problem that keeps me from getting one is price and size. If/when the price hits below $10,000 and 50+ inches, then HELLZ YEAH! :( But I know that won't happen for like 2 years atleast.
