Yes, a great product should sell better for its quality and reliability. PS3 has an excellent library of games(exclusives) and it deserves 1st place as a "Hardcore" gaming Console.
No, because the resistance of the 360 has led Sony to focus more on the Playstation gamers, plus 360 put up a really good fight this whole time. Props to them!

...But I think I'll wait a good 6-12 months before getting PS4 just to get the bugs out and updated hardware installed. Not to mention the variety of SKU's to choose from.
