I honestly just think it was nothing more than bad timing and bad marketing. Battleborn never really had a identity. You look at the marketing for most games and it gives you a idea what it is. Uncharted 4, big story driven action. Doom, loud, brash and direct shooting.

That's literally why the animations and comics are there. It doesn't need a campaign. When was the last time you heard someone go 'Yeah the Battlefield 3 campaign was great'...never
Why? Forcing in features just for the sake of it? i'd rather have a top notch multiplayer only game than a alright game with glued on single player. That mind set has killed plenty of games and developers (Hey condemned!)

See previous comment. The goals were much higher in terms of sales and active player bases. It has nothing to do with being negative, i bought the game at launch and still enjoy it. Doesn't mean i won't talk about the game's less than strong sales and impact.
